Would be great to have option to make save button save over original, to increase speed of use.

Share to application otherwise for save out.

Great little program.

Unfortunately Android-s StorageAccessFramework api (SAF) does not allow me to replace the existing file content. Creating a new foto-file is easy and works as expected.

Replacing File content would require:

  • Create a new-File.
  • If successfull Delete the original file
  • and rename new-File to old-filename.
  • update the media-Database.

This is much too complicated and not propper working if one of the operations fails. This is one of the reasons why i stoped developing my gallery app https://github.com/k3b/APhotoManager/

Greetings, It certainly sounds like a hassle and see why you opted not to do it!

I did find these two pages if it helps: https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage#filesExternal

Thankyou again for the great app, I will be patient with using it as needed with a computer is not about :-)

With benevolent wishes

have you used screenshot touch app from playstore its cropping feature is blazing fast inplace edit/replaces instantly + saving crop as different image is also same fast in same directory by default ,or change directory if you want

Fast as in i cropped 100 images/screenshots within <5mins

try it and its quality of crop is same as this i didnt see any much changes maybe 0.0001% difference, yes the size of cropped image maybe is slighlty more

in screenshot touch just open gallery icon it shows you scrollable grid you can quickly crop or long click gallery iconnto open a full page where all photos are shown

it takea less than 5s to crop a image depends on how fast your hands are

  • it allows blurring of content, annotation Also samsung gallery native crop is also faster and provides better quality than either of apps,
