Always getting 'Generated 0 reportable projects'

I was going to compile my own version with more debugging (this still happens without the -r flag, I just included it in my example). It never seems to see any reportable projects. Any ideas?

Well, that's a bit of a show-stopper. Assuming you can get it to compile on your end, more debugging may be a help.

What does your folder/project hierarchy in OmniFocus look like?
