org-tidy-protect-overlay prevents deleting text in capture buffers

Repro:

  • Activate org-tidy mode in org buffers.
  • Open a capture buffer via org-capture
  • While typing, try to delete some text.
  • Note the error property drawer is protected in org-tidy mode. This seems to happen no matter where the cursor is in the buffer.

Workaround:

  • Set org-tidy-protect-overlay to nil.
