charger wont charge battery on my x2100

So from what I read I need to update my bios. If I follow the readme will it fix my problem? I recently got my x2100 and I love ! It's great but not being able to charge my battery is an issue. I dont want to brick my x2100 and I just want to make sure im doing everything right. Thank you
