Historic Playback
Would you consider adding the ability to playback the history of received messages and see the positions of vessels over a timeline?

I am thinking about that indeed. Would be a cool addition.
Maybe leverage sqlite a bit more to create these type of features. Need to give it some more thought.
One relatively simple way to do this is to write the NMEA with a timestamp to a file (already available). Then, just read this file back in as per usual but throttle the messages based on timestamp and requested playback speed.
It is not so fancy but fairly light as it keeps it close to existing functionality and could suffice for playback of races. It is not sufficient to view a playback at any time.
