Problems in Outlook for Mac

Hi. I'm having issues when writing email on Outlook. Control-e control-a Meta-b does not work. Ctr-f Ctr-b work but if you keep f or b pressed for too long then the outlook command find or bold take over. Selection does not work at all. Is there a way to disable those outlook commands or some way around this? thanks FKG
