Drip sequence of emails after signup - request

I'd love to offer subscribers a drip sequence of emails upon subscription where I can set up the sequence of mailings in a dashboard similar to the scheduled mailings. Instead of just scheduling one mailing to the whole list, multiple mailings could be scheduled to go out to each new subscriber in a certain order based on X number of days after signup. A checkbox for each list would indicate whether a subscriber should receive regular mailings during the drip sequence or start them after the drip sequence is over.

The problem is that this stuff gets really spammy, really quickly. I hate getting these types of emails, personally.

Understand the perspective, but like everything to do with mass mailings, it's all in the implementation. When I sign up for things like this, I like them. The ones I get are usually value-filled and not spammy. It's different if they are not requested or not relevant.

It's not a small feature to implement. I doubt I'd be able to write it alone.
