Save draft before opening up file browser/image uploader

Sometimes the image uploader thing goes to pot. When this happens, you can't get back to the message to edit. Maybe we should save the draft before a user wants to add an image .

I can't find (yet) what the hook is needed to call a custom function in (say) CKeditor when you click this button. Boo.
