Create a JupyterLab group in the community forum?

Open choldgraf opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hey all - are folks on this team interested in a JupyterLab group in the community forum? This would:

  • Let people put "JupyterLab Team Member" as their title (or whatever title's you'd want to be called)
  • Give you a little flair logo in your profile image
  • Make it possible to create group-level communications channels etc in the forum

For comparison, here is the JupyterHub Team group: https://discourse.jupyter.org/g/jupyterhub-team

If you wish for this to happen, let me know:

  • One or two JupyterLab team members that are willing to be "owners" of this group - this basically just means you need to make sure that the group's membership is up to date as you'll have the power to add people manually
  • A title you'd like for the group, e.g. "JupyterLab Team Members"
  • A logo for the flair icons (right now this is just the Jupyter Logo for all the other groups, but if there is a lab-specific one you could use that)
  • A list of people to be added to the group initially

Thanks @choldgraf for this proposal :+1:

This sounds like a good idea and I would be happy to be part of that group. Probably a couple of other lab team members that are active on Discourse would also be interested.
