Build table-of-contents-style panel to house notebook output cells

Problem

  • Having notebooks alongside dashboard editor creates a spatial problem
  • On smaller screens, dashboards can become hard to navigate and edit since the majority of the canvas is out of view

Proposal

  • A table of contents style (ToC) panel that imports output and markdown cells (potentially code cells) from notebooks
  • ToC panel will house output cards that can be dragged onto the dashboard canvas
  • Full notebooks will not need to be in view in order to add outputs
  • To use outputs from different notebooks, click the drop down at the top to browse available notebooks
  • This solution will solve the workspace issue by taking up less space on the screen
