Blank matplotlib widgets in Jupyter Lab and classic notebooks @ Firefox

blank_widget_bug Sadly, get only a white space instead of a figure when running Jupyter notebooks with IPYML with %matplotlib widget

Apparently, the issue is in Firefox, because they seem to render fine in MS Edge. Adblocker in Firefox was off.

Versions:

IPython : 8.4.0 ipykernel : 6.13.0 ipywidgets : 7.7.0 jupyter_client : 7.3.1 jupyter_core : 4.10.0 jupyter_server : 1.17.0 jupyterlab : 3.4.2 nbclient : 0.6.3 nbconvert : 6.5.0 nbformat : 5.4.0 notebook : 6.4.11

Firefox: 100.0.2 Windows 10-10.0

I also get this in v.7.0.0a10 notebooks, but it happens for me in Edge and also Chrome (including in incognito mode). (I don't have Firefox installed to be able to test that.)

Is there any error in the browser dev tools console?
