Jupyter notebook get uninstalled automatically

Open saurabhgayali opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

I am using Windows 10 and everyday when I leave my office system, it magically uninstalls. Everyday morning it says "'jupyter' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

I tried everything. I disabled by system cleaners. I tried leaving the console window and localhost:8888 open on chrome overnight to see if it prevents from getting it uninstalled. The result was that chrome page turned unresponsive and console window shows jupyter running. I havd to close cmd to restart jupyter and it again shows the same error "'jupyter' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

I am using User folder on my C drive and using python -m pip install jupyter to install jupyter as I also have perl and pip messes it up.

You may want to check with your company IT - they might be resetting something overnight.

Actually, it is kind of curious, but this is happening to me as well. It is happening in my personal computer using Linux Ubuntu 22.4 .
