Currently used Mathjax version (2.7.1) causes rendering issues in Safari, please upgrade

Describe the bug Rendering math equations in a markdown cell that contain a hat or tilde are misplaced in Safari on macOS. This is a bug in the old currently used Mathjax version. Please upgrade to 2.7.7.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Put a math expression into a markdown box, e.g. "\hat{x}"
2. Render the notebook on nbviewer.jupyter.org
3. Open the url in Safari on macOS
4. See the misplaced hat ("^") on the "x".

Expected behavior The hat should be aligned with the "x".
