I moved everything to a folder called '..' and it can't be opened

Trying to move files to an above directory, I stupidly moved them to a new folder called '..' and now I can't open it because it wants to go up a directory.

I didn't know you could create a directory with this protected name! How did you create this directory? Can you rename the directory to something else? Normally, .. is a protected, special name referring to the parent directory. I wouldn't know how to open a directory with such a name.

Sorry for the late response. No, I can't rename the folder to something else.

I didn't create a new folder called '..' or rename an existing folder that. I moved a folder and wrote '..' in the path name. This seemed to create a folder called '..'.

My files are saved at least. I was able to restore to a recent backup.
