[blog] Turing Way JB2 upgrade retrospective

Open choldgraf opened this issue 9 months ago • 4 comments

The Turing Way recently upgraded their book to Jupyter Book 2! This is a short issue to track writing a blog post about it.

I've put together a brief draft at the link below, and added some sections for the Turing Way team to fill in. This is just meant to help guide writing, so if you prefer a different structure then we can certainly change it up! This should not be a complex process or post, I think we should prefer "easy and quick" over "writing the perfect post".

Here's a draft link for the blog post

I've added some bullet points of my thoughts.

I've added a chunk at the end which is my plea for multi-language support 😅

Thanks @da5nsy - I've accepted all the changes and added a bit of text here and there to smooth transitions. I've also created a new issue to track extra language functionality here so we can track it:

I've converted the Google Doc into a Markdown post in order to make it easier to turn into a PR. I think we can basically post it as-is. Better to have something out there than to try and make it perfect. I've attached it to this comment here:

Would @da5nsy or @JimMadge like to turn this into a PR at https://github.com/jupyter-book/blog ?

Thank you @choldgraf! ❤ Will make the blog post a PR now: https://github.com/jupyter-book/blog/pull/14
