I believe the MFEM's gslib find points satisfies those two requirements. I could give this a shot if you could point me to where the modifications should be made.

How do you know which 1.1.0 version I have?
I re-installed irony and company-irony from MELPA stable and am still running into the same issue. I also confirmed that I do not have that change you indicated.
