Is the current process for Ingress the best approach?

We have thought about differing approaches for Ingress to move this into a single container, however finding a balance between UX and something which can deliver the requirements is not easy. While the current process is not hugely optimised it satisfies the requirements allows simple UX and consumes few resources.

Requirements:

• Any ingress should be accessible using DNS convention [container].[network].shipyard
• Ingress should be accessible using an IP address
• Ingress should be able to have a statically assigned IP address or dynamic
• Ingress should be able to expose a port to the host and bind to any port
• Ingress should be able to proxy to containers, K8s pods/services, and Nomad tasks
