There is now an official mirror at https://github.com/nih-at/libzip Let me know if you have any patches that we can add to it to improve Android support out of the box!

Would you accept a pull request to add an android directory with the necessary makefiles ?

I cannot commit to a deadline, but I could work on it when I have some free time.

Yes, adding an android directory is fine. We'll only be able to make mechanical changes to it, e.g. when we add new source files, so we'd appreciate if you could check it from time to time. Thanks.
