Is There A Plan to Support Version 5 ?
Is There A Plan to Support Version 5 ?
Sorry for the delay in responding. My current situation probably doesn't allow me to interact with this project until next year for now. But as I always stated any contribution will always be welcome.
+1 on version 5 request. This explorer's awesome - would it be a big job?
I made a version that works with LiteDB v5 and created a pull request (https://github.com/julianpaulozzi/LiteDbExplorer/pull/52) to address this issue. Fingers crossed that everything goes well with the pull request since it is my first ;)
How about a merge of the PR to get version 5 supported? @julianpaulozzi
@julianpaulozzi if your current job prohibits you from interacting with this project how about you consider passing the torch along to someone else that can?
@Memphizzz @jswigart @stigzler @tabzhang I just noticed the LiteDB project has released their own GUI tool for v5 databases called LiteDB.Studio
@phantomtypist The reason me and I guess most people want to use this explorer is the dark theme or better, the nicer design in general.
@jswigart @stigzler @tabzhang Until @julianpaulozzi can take a look at my PR and possibly merge it, here's a build you can use which I'm using currently: Debug.zip. Please note though that I'm only using it to view data, not modify and allthough it seems to be working fine from my limited tests I can't guarantee that it's a 100%.

Awesome sauce - just briefly tested + it can read + modify V5 dbs. Great work, fella. Do you have an associated GH project or is it private atm?
@stigzler I'm happy to hear that it works for you! This would be the associated fork I created: https://github.com/Memphizzz/LiteDbExplorer/tree/LiteDBv5
Sorry for the long delay in replying. @phantomtypist is right, since 2020 I haven't had time to look at this project. I thought the situation would change but not.
It took a considerable amount of time to found the project, someone with possibilities to maintain the future would be very good.
The update process is linked to the github releases, in which case the easiest thing would be to actually update in another repository to keep the tool as possible for those who still use version 4.
To maintain this repository I accept to invite collaborators who are interested.
Does not work for LiteDB 5...still.
