Both options can be justified I think. I'd vote for `.repository` as it feels more specced than having an array in which individual `"rel"` attributes follow spec.
I share the concern about the resources field too. Even if we made it just be a list of files, this would need to be included into the tooling everywhere,...
does that mean whenever you create a new checkpoint that afterwards tooling should update `.version`?

how would you be able to tell if it's a snapshot? hm and I don't understand why the mtimes would differ with different snapshots
how are we looking on this issue?
