Twist Axis of Logitech Extreme 3D Pro not recognised on Linux
From Okona on the Discord
Version .41 Linux on Ubuntu 20.04 hwe with kernel 5.11.0 does not recognize the Twist axis of the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. The Axis is recognized and working in Linux itself.
Can confirm the same behavior on another Ubuntu 20.04 machine running the normal non-hwe Kernel 5.4.0 for that distro.
CH Pro Throttle: The main Throttle and the Hat are not recognized. The little stick however is. Throttle, Hat, Stick are all represented by axes. The game seems to only recognize the first two. Same thing on the Logitech Extreme 3D pro.
Oh fun. Does the device work in the bindings UI at all? (Seen some bind but fail in-game before)
I'm facing a similar issue in Linux with a Gladiator NXT stick. The twist axis isn't recognized. The bindings UI doesn't respond to the input at all, but inputting on a different axis works, and the binding succeeds.
Same issue, twist on Saitek X55, and the twist and throttle roller on a Saitek CYBORG 3D Gold USB (old but still works great!) fail to be recognized in game. The devices as a whole are recognized and other axes can be bound.
Both of them work fully in E:D and Star Citizen.
Ubuntu 22.04 5.15.0-30-generic Using native Linux client via Steam.
Can this be a generic issue? The twist and throttle on my Titanwolf (repbranded Defender Cobra M5) is not detected on Windows too.
....and same thing with X52 Pro on Debian Sid. Twist and throttle not recognized. Elite Dangerous, no problems.
Same issue on EndevourOS (6.3.9-arch1-1) and my Saitek X52
Tried using Proton Experemental and no difference, GE Proton 8-3 and I could map Pitch/Yaw but not Stick X/Y. Also tried Proton 8.0-2 and it was the same as GE Proton. The stick axis showed up as Stick Left and Stick Down digital inputs.
