Offline indicator

Recently I was kicked offline and was wondering why the GUI wasn't behaving, turned out it couldn't connect to the controller/model.

We need an offline indicator.

This would also help when models the GUI is connected to (or even the controller itself) are destroyed. Let's try to discuss what should happen, as we have other bugs that potentially can be addressed by this feature.
