git / github / homework follow up
Some follow ups from today's lecture:
Anyone who is stuck or lost in terms of using git / GitHub or Ubuntu / vim more generally can drop in to my office (please bring your laptop) or make an appointment and we'll work through it together.
If you do any kind of serious work involving coding over the next 10 years in academia or elsewhere, you will almost certainly use both git and GitHub. Please don't hesitate to invest in learning the basic concepts. Often the best way is to create test repositories, try things out, break them, delete them and repeat.
Some more resources here: https://help.github.com/articles/good-resources-for-learning-git-and-github/
Finally, I forgot to emphasize this part of the homework but please work through the Python set up page on quant-econ.net before coming to the next class.
