Preview without splitting current frame
Is it possible to enable the preview mode but have the previews open up in an already-existing frame rather than splitting the current one?
This is not currently supported, no.

Right now I have an issue where latex-preview-pane forgets that it has already opened a preview, and instead opens a new one (alongside my existing buffer). Why does it do this? Can I turn that off?
I would like to voice my support for this request. I have a dual moitor setup and would like to keep a PDF preview in a separate window on my 2nd monotir (which I keep in portrait orientation).
Thanks for merging my request. Please let us know when MELPA package is updated so I can switch from local copy to official version :) I think this issue could be closed now.
Unless I am mistaken, MELPA picks it up automatically. You can check their status page to see the last build.
