[Feature] "Not interested"-lists you can subscribe to

Open VVind0wM4ker opened this issue 9 years ago • 9 comments

The possibility to create, share and subscribe to list of games you are not interested would be very cool.

Users who don't like for e.g. visual novels (like me :D) can subscribe to a list and automatically mark all listed games as not interested. A bit like the filter-lists for adblock etc.

Would be happy to hear feedback for this idea :)

Maybe just allow use steam keywords list for non intrested keywords hide.

The point is, that i think the "hide not interested" feature is very useful, but that the possibility to subscribe to an list would be very cool too.

What you mean is like adding a "-keyword" in a googlesearch. Not very useful for my purposes. This function would be like steam curators just for a blacklist instead of an recommendation.

I see some duplication in suggestion support independent keyword lists when possible use built-in version with same list content. Steam users mark games by some keywords and ES can add support list "not intrested" keywords from this steam keywords that (games with this keyword) will be ignored in same way as single game marked as non-interested.

You don't like Novel then (if feature will implemeted) you add Novel keyword and skip similar games...

Novel was just an example. But how you want to add an keyword for completely different games ?

It's not the point to hide games of an specific genre, but a number of games an curator you trust added to an list.

Here in Germany for example we have people like "AltF4Games" & co. who review very bad games with a lot of sarcasm. well the point is in situations like this you maybe have an list of 5 games:

an very bad shooter, 2d platformer wich isn't fun at all, an racing game, bad rpg and lets say an puzzle game.

How you want to block them without adding them all manually ? yes 5 games you could quickly add but whats about 20, or 50 or 100 ? There is no tag word you could use cause the games don't have any similarities except the one that they all are bad. But you cant tag all games with "bad" and hide them, cause steam deletes negative tags and everyone could tag any game with any tag.

I hope i was able to clear things up and want to say sorry for my horrible english ;)

I recently decided I was sick of seeing all these crappy games on Steam. In theory, if I click not interested, I won't see them anymore.

So I've been mass clicking crappy games, not interested. A list would be great!

My first thought while working my way down the list of games was a simple button next to each title where I could click "not interest", wishlist, or follow.... To eliminate having to load up each games page.

Same for me. I have a total of 7.250 ignored titles, but not even close to the end. Maybe also an option to ignore all DLC for this title would be nice, and an function wich rechecks the games for later published dlc (after you ignored the main game) pretty complex...

Starting my education as an software developer soon. With the daily training and advanced knowledge I might feel more confident to submit own work... we'll see ;)

Actually, the most obvious use for such a feature would be to create lists based on information from Steam communities like Sentinels of the Store.

I think this would be extremely useful to everyone.

Didn't think of this before, nice idea. Thanks for reminding me of this thread btw.

So, Enhanced Steam is discontinued. There is now Augmented Steam. Perhaps your requested feature/bugfix is already implemented there! If not, you could move your issue there.
