Player-controlled units are not behaving correctly when given a move order to an unreachable position
When you send a unit (soldier for example) to another island for example, it should find the nearest possible position on the island that it's on and move there. Currently nothing is happening in this case, this is especially problematic when trying to explore the map.

Well, in the original Settlers III this is normal behaviour. When you try to send a soldier to another island (not accessible place) that command is basically ignored. Your warrior will not be affected by this command (will stay in place or continue previous given command).
So I would say that's not an issue.
If our unit doesn't move, we know that we tried to send it to an unreachable position. So we try another position e.g. on minimap.
