Bow Orientation
Hello, I'm glad to finally be able to hold my Tinkers' and Extra Utilities weapons and tools properly, but Bows still render strangely.
My Tinkers' Construct Longbow renders on my main hand, and I just kinda point the crosshair and hold "use" to shoot it, as if it were a gun, sorta. And the Draconic Evolution bow, while using the "draw back the arrow and let go" mechanic, renders the bow in a strange direction, so I have to kinda fumble with my controllers until the arrow "clicks", then guess where I'm aiming from where it feels like my hands are, since I can't use the bow's graphic to judge.
Other bows I've tried work fine, and have since I've been using Vivecraft, such as the Bloodwood Bow from Natura.
The Tinkers' bow isn't game-breaking as long as I don't think of it as a bow, but the Draconic Evolution bow is useless to anyone without incredible hand-eye-coordination.
Interesting, it all depends on how the mod bow is coded. I don't think there's much I can do without adding custom code for each and every mod item in existence.
I didn't realize there were mod bows that triggered the '2-handed' archery style, is that the only one that does it?
I haven't tried any other bows, but I've got a few bows from Twilight Forest sitting in a chest, I'll let you know how they work in a bit.
All four Natura bows work like Vanilla. All Twilight Forest bows work like vanilla, and still perform their special effects. TiCon longbow works like a gun in my survival world, and crashed the game in my creative world. Shortbow also crashed in creative. Crossbow works, and fires like a gun, though I guess that's normal... Both Draconic Evolution bows rendered at the wrong angle on the correct hand. Firing is 2-handed. If autofire is turned on, hitting "use" without grabbing the bowstring will send an arrow flying off to the right-ish from the bow-hand Vive wand.
I don't think there's much I can do without adding custom code for each and every mod item in existence.
Perhaps not every mod in existence... but you could consider the most popular ones (basically those mentioned here)....
when you tweak an item, do you change the rendering code completely or just some values?
Perhaps it could be made customizable from a config file, so we add an item and tweak values accordingly; make the masses work for you!!
