Doesn't work on forge 36.2.39

So I tried to set the forge version of the install from 36.2.20 to 36.2.39 (latest 1.16.5 forge version) but the game crashed instantly with exit code 1

how can this be fixed?

latest.log, or launcher_log.txt please

pastebin.com/p5rS7e1U the latest log wasn't updated but i got this from the launcher log; don't think it'll be much help

thats a useless snippet. restart the launcher, start vivecraft, and after it crashed get the launcher_log.txt

that was the whole launcher_log.txt, not a snippet

also i tried opening it twice after upgrading the forge version and both times it crashed

Downgrading mods requiring newer 1.16.5 forge versions is NOT an option.

36.2.39 should work just fine grafik

you need to manually set it in the custom forge version box

So, I set it up properly now, but now I am getting the same issue as OP here. image

looks like Etched is also incompatible
