That's the thing, it's not a crash log it's a "Game Output" when I hit the "Play" button

Make sure you are using 64 bit java 8 and that your hardware can support allocating that much ram.

crash-2019-05-29_18.13.54-client.txt I could get it to start, but it crashes when I try to open an existing map, or create a new one.

You could try allocating more ram to minecraft. The crash report says there's only 1 GB available.

He definitely has 32-bit java.
