it could also be a hinting issue. I think the current binaries use TTF autohint, which is not ideal. I manually hinted an upcoming release, but it's not quite ready...

agree it's worth looking at your antialias/display settings though. I'll leave the issue open while you check

answer is no for those (me) following along. I've redrawn the glyphs another way to remove the kinks from the interpolation

currently barlow is not very stable at all in between axes hence all the brace layers. I was able to get rid of a bunch of them with this
