Create a new tool that works with more vendors, more tools, and financial institutions
Tracking issue for a new project (and new repository) that would house a browser extension. This extension would:
- Maintains a secure database of itemized purchases from vendors (like Amazon and others) as well as transactions from institutions (like banks/credit cards) and finTech tools (like mint/tiller/personal capital). Does so by:
- Scrapes purchase details from relevant merchant on demand OR a regular basis. Scraping would work similar to this extension
- Adds new overlay feature to financial institutions and tools that will show itemized purchase information including deep links to that order information and credit card transaction details.
- Extends to include other merchants (e.g. Amazon, Target, BestBuy, DigiKey, Burton, etc)
- Extends to include other institutions/tools (e.g. your bank, Mint, Personal Capital, Quicken Online, Tiller)
- Optionally allow tool to write / persist itemizations to institutions/tools (very much like this tagger tool).
- Work on all of the main browsers (see table below)
Future work could include:
- Create a matching phone app that has similar functionality.
- Create reporting tools that allows direct analysis of purchases or transactions without a third party (ie, no need for Mint, etc).

I know this was a massive setback. Would love to help out if I can. I have some Chrome extension development experience.
Thanks for the note! I'll keep you in mind.
I would love to throw in a vote for a future tool to work with monarch money! I've loved your tool for a long time, but now with Mint shutting down, I'm moving over to monarchmoney.com, so hopefully it's a tools you can adopt in the future. Thanks for everything so far!
