'screenshot selected region' feature broken

Screenshot selected region ' action isn't working on my new device, worked like a charm on Nexus 6p :(

Rooted vanilla OnePlus oxygenos. Magisk, riru core/YAHFA Xposed framework.

I call the option from a pie slice, it just turns the screen completely blank white and waits for me to draw a rectangle, then notifies the shot couldn't be captured.

I've given both the Xposed edge pro app and riru edxposed the Android permission to draw over other apps. I'm sure that screen filter is disabled, especially if XP edge's toggling of that setting is working.

Numerous other privileged functions work fine, like back navigation and full screenshot.
