Visualization software.

The program currently in place is a very simple serial output (and not an optimal one) that you can read on the Arduino IDE output graph. I'm working on a free nativescript mobile app to work with the ESP32 and bluetooth, and someone else is working on a desktop version. I'm not super experienced building out applications so this is anyone's.

Main features the software needs:

  • Graphing, and output stream w/ timestamping.
  • Multiple metrics (derivatives and statistics)
  • Different stimulus pairings: -- The classic software is a video that plays forward and backward based on the change in ratio -- Audio that does the same -- "Games" with scoring systems, based on binary positive/negative stimulus. -- Anything else appropriate, really. The HEG is essentially a pulse oximeter with a program that gives you a returning light ratio so that's very flexible.

Ideal:

  • Self-reporting system (incl for different sensor placements on the skull), optional anonymous data collection
  • Accessible, peer-reviewed learning material.
  • Anxiety/breathing alert if the score drops too fast?
