Sound output delay

Open frlof opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

Sometimes when I run Cadmus it doesn't work at all, but when it does, the delay from me speaking until it gives some output fluctuates tremendously. Sometimes it works great with under half a second delay. But at other times the delay can be up to several seconds which makes it unusable. Does someone know what is happening and how to solve it? I am using Manjaro.

For me, I always get the delay with Cadmus or NoiseTorch only when using headset mic. But when using a USB mic, sometimes I get delay, sometimes not. I use Google Meet on browser, and everytime I get delay I restart the browser. The USB mic delay can be fixed, but the headset mic delay cannot

This seems to be the same issue as https://github.com/josh-richardson/cadmus/issues/19. Basically it seems that it can have some issues with analog inputs, if you can switch them to digital in pavu(pulseaudio volume control) then great your problem is most likely going to be solved, if not then there does not seem to be a solution currently

I have the same issue. I don't have any digital input available (as my input is analogue). I have a ryzen 3900X 24 core (12 logical), and a ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard, I doubt it's a down to performance of my system.

I have this issue, too. Disabling and re-enabling noise suppression seems to fix it. Must be an initialization issue.
