Velocity question

Hello

I do not understand ,if i made 4 layers of Velocity record ( 10,40,70,127 )for example If the midi message comes with Velocity value of (35) what sample will be played the 10 or 40 vel ?

Sample defined Velocity=10 will be played till velocity value is < 40
