New Years Resolution
We're a week into the new year, but I still would like to make a New Year's resolution. In the last quarter of the previous year I wasn't very active in this project. I had trouble getting enough time to spend on the project and I didn’t respond to issues or PRs in a timely manner, let alone submit my own. I would like to change that, because I’m still enthusiastic about this project.
My New Year's resolution to the gradualizer project is to respond more timely, typically within a few days, on comments, issues and PRs. I’ll make an effort to check in on the project a few times a week.
It’s still going to be hard for me to work as much as I would like on this project, and in particular to put in consecutive hours which are sometimes needed to do the deep cognitive work required for some of this stuff. But a little improvement is better than nothing.
The thing I will focus on initially is to sort out some of the outstanding issues that we have. There are a couple of places were the core developers disagree on things and I’ll work to make sure that we can resolve them. Once that’s done I will set up a plan for getting the constraint solver in place. This will be a big change and I’m going to ask for help since my time will be limited. There will be enough work to go around and I’ll start by hashing out a plan and breaking down the work needed to be done.
I also want to take the time to thank the other core contributors, @zuiderkwast, @gomoripeti and @Zalastax. Without your efforts gradualizer wouldn't be nearly as nice as it is. It's also been good to see some new contributors during the last year: @aggelgian, @NelsonVides and @FrankBro. Thanks for your contributions!
Wishing you all a happy new year and may all your types become gradually more static.
Happy New year!
Sounds like a great plan! I especially like that you will focus on the outstanding issues.
Thank you for this great project!
Happy new year.
My company is allowing me to allocate some time to work on this and I'm also putting some of my personal time because I think it's a great project and fun to work on! If you need help with things and have insights on some issues, I'd love to help.
Thank you for your great work and to the rest of the very helpful contributors that have helped me.

That's fantastic to hear @FrankBro! I'll be scoping out some work in the coming few weeks and it's great to know that there are willing hands ready to jump in!
happy new year!
