I have the same issue, I think committing takes too much of the indexing time, I'm running the process in a fairly capable machine and I'd love to see more...

Probaly unrelated, but I've noticed that block committing takes a big chunk of the time needed to build an index, I don't know enough Rust to fiddle with that myself,...
