Description

Right clicking the menu bar in an empty region currently opens this context menu:

To me, this would be much more useful if I could directly open the 'Menu Bar Layout' from here than editing the 'Menu bar Appearance' as that contains settings that I rarely change. Those are more of the 'ok, this is fine now, now leave it alone' kind, while 'Menu-Bar Layout' in the Ice-Settings needs constant tuning to change the order of menu items, or add a new one that got auto added to the always hidden section.

There are several things that I can think of that could be beneficial here:

• Move the 'Menu Bar Appearance' section into the regular config and change it there
• Add the 'Edit Menu Bar Layout' shortcut to the context menu (This is currently already somewhat the case, because when opening the settings from the context menu the last chosen pane already appears. However, I do not use this often enough to remember that fact, and I also by mistake often choose the first entry because it seems relevant enough. :/
• Change how new menu bar entries are added and add them to the show on demand section automatically. This would allow not having to go to the settings that frequently. Perhaps this could / should be its own setting, i.e. a setting which part of the menu bar new items should be aded to.
