UI/UX Issue: Text Alignment and Uniform Color Reduce Readability in Interface
Description: The URH interface (in Interpretation/Analysis views) shows all text aligned on one side, with uniform color top to bottom. This makes it difficult to visually parse or differentiate lines.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open URH application.
Load a capture or signal in Interpretation tab.
Observe the text display with uniform color and alignment.
Expected Behavior:
Text lines or blocks should have better spacing or alternating background colors for readability.
Consider adding more visual cues to differentiate lines.
Actual Behavior:
All text words aligned left/right with no color variation creates a visually flat and hard-to-read look.
Environment:
URH Version: 0.7.5 (latest stable as of mid-2025)
OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Linux), or Windows 10
Alternating background colors for rows or columns would be an idea, but this would probably break the clean readability when showing diffs (that are indicated in red), which is one of the main features of URH. I guess, you have a special use case where you are experiencing this issue. Note that we are focussing on a standard use case where people try to figure out a protocols meaning. However, I am interested in your use case, would you tell us about it?
I hope we are looking at a BIG FAT XMAS update..... I would give my right click mouse for that... =) And i would like to THANK all the contributors . the MAD coders from ancient times for theyr magical efforts -- Its things like this that makes living living... And all that.. Happy times
