internal layout preview image

This is where you can have a small preview of the selected layout which is visible from within the template layout. this would be setable in the layout like any other template option.

The purpose of this is to allow developers to quickly identify the layout and perhaps what it looks like. If you have many different layouts they might all look very similiar but have a different look on the frontend.

I would put this under the basic tab as this loads first.

I would not need to be very large you could put a size contraint on it.

This would also be imported or exported with the reest of the settings

Hi Jon,

Good Idea! we are doing presets in the near future. and that includes this. Presets gives you the ability to do multiple styles and layouts on one template/style only.

It's done and will be release in the near future.

would this include inheritences simmiliar to gantry. I was thinking about how it would be good to set colours and fonts once but have different layouts.

The current code doesn't have that but we are thinking on inheritance and having parent/global options.

  • header less
  • blue theme
  • blog layout
