at the moment there is a few pre-definded badges you can select, and then of course there is custom which allows all mannor of badges to be created.

Would it be possible to make the user editable in the template so they can add or remove predefined badges?

They come from XML but you can use language overrides to change the text. Does that serve the purpose?

@chetanmadaan

Editing the badges that are already there will cause there to be many issues with translations on multi-language sites (i guess). Having translation issues on the template is fairly fundamental and would be a bad thing.

What about

  • adding custom2 custom3 option for badges
  • adding further fixed badged at a later date if (I/joomdev/others) think of any. Possible another 5 max.

@shoulders

~~custom2 and custom3 can be added but they won't be saved anywhere. Since it's all on article level. One way to approach this is to make the default badge(s) text and color editable via the plugin settings and that way the user the customize and reuse if he/she likes.~~

oops, there me getting mixed up with article level and template options. Custom 2+3 will not be required.

A related issue for the badge text colour is: #110
