Labels don't show up unless I click "Show Labels" after every action

When I upload a corpus via the upload functionality, I noticed this strange issue: Actions which normally would automatically show an update to the graph (e.g. clicking a node and typing "r" to define the root, or clicking two nodes to define a dependency between them) don't change anything. In order to see the changes in the graph, I have to manually click "Show Labels".

Here, the two nodes I clicked are highlighted, but the dependency is not drawn or added in the text box

After clicking the "Show labels" button, the dependency appears and is added in the text box:

I have to do this after every single action.
