Not working on external monitors (ubuntu 18.04 with i3wm)

Describe the bug If I'm using laptop's primary monitors redshift works, when using external monitors it does nothing.

To Reproduce

  • Connect external monitors
  • Use arandr on i3wm to configure screens
  • Run redshift -r -O 2500

Expected behavior External monitors are dimmed.

Software versions:

  • OS: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS (i3 window manager)
  • Redshift version: 1.11
  • Distribution: Ubuntu
  • Redshift installed from: apt-get
