A feature to stop autoloading images and Videos, link previews or maybe even the number of posts autoloaded when on Wifi / Cell data / Roaming would be very helpful!

There is already an setting that might solve this for you - the "Media size" one. You can set it to "Disabled" to prevent images, videos and previews from being downloaded. Does that work for you?
