demystify "lamtha" parameter

Open jasmainak opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

I have been looking at effects of synaptic connectivity and specifically the effect of variability in synaptic delay on the dipole signal. Currently the "lamtha" (space constant) parameter controls this, but it's strangely named and it's the opposite of what is physiologically interesting.

Is there a situation where one would control "lamtha" directly? Higher the "lamtha", lower is the variability because the spatial distribution becomes more uniform. I feel there needs to be a more intuitive way to control the variability ... it is also hidden in "nc_dict" which is a very cryptic name (netconn dictionary) for a beginner.
