Badge notifications aren't working

No idea why they're not working, but clearly something is wrong.

Investigate workarounds / see if it's possible to wrap the service with python/dbus. Perhaps something like this: https://github.com/jamtur01/lattedock-thunderbird/blob/master/src/chrome/content/update-badge.py
