Finicky Icon Design

Being a fan of Finicky and using it every day, I've gradually come to wish that Finicky's icon would match the look and feel of macOS. That's why I came up with this proposal for a new icon for Finicky. Respecting the original design, I made it more macOS-ish. Because I see this as a starting point, I'm very open to suggestions for further changes. What do you think? @johnste

Well, I think this looks pretty great! I'm not at all against giving Finicky a more up to date look.

I'm also looking into adding some a configuration UI to the app and I think something like this would help a lot guiding the visual design on that.

Some thoughts:

• Love that you kept the hand around. I think it's a good and pretty unique symbol.
• While the icon looks great in all cases, it would be nice with a splash of color in there, I think
• I wonder what the icon would look like in the menu bar. Maybe just the hand, but tilted like in your icon?

Looks like you are using the same vector base (from the svg assume) as the current hand, but do let me know if you want access to any existing material. It's all in figma.

I thought that just rotating the current menu bar icon a bit is good enough, but I'll see what I can think of.

@uetchy can you upload the raw images for those icons so we can set them for Finicky even if there isn’t an update?

@j-f1 I think I'll ask John for a future plan. For a time being, download this replacement icon pack and manually replace the app icon.

Hey, love the icon!

I have very little time and ability to work on Finicky nowadays, so sadly progress on pretty much everything has come to a halt for now. I'm not sure when or if this will change, but I'm hoping I can manage to get at least a small update out this year.
