Request: Allow overlay in a single channel
If you want to have different note lengths at the spot, you can't really do that unless if you add a arpeggio effect for chords or you have to completely make a new channel. I am suggesting to add the ability to do that easily by just putting the notes down like normal.
what is 'overlay'?
I don't think I specified well with the terms I used, but what I'm trying to say is in the screenshot below,
I want the notes on the left to "merge" as a continuous one, but I also want the notes below to be separate. I know this issue can be solved by having other channels to do this, but I feel that the implementation of allowing the ability to add notes of different lengths in the same place will be less tedious and annoying to do.
Well actually, having overlapping notes of varying sizes and etc. would actually be kinda difficult to deal with, it requires a complete rework of how notes work iirc and certain effects may need to be removed or changed in logic. Speaking of effects, if you don't want to use separate channels for this, you can use the transition type effect set to "continue" for something similar to the behavior you are looking for. Then you can tinker with note size and volume to tweak the note transitioning to be how you want it to be.
Yeah, having this feature would be really hard to remake so I understand if it is not implemented in

i can imagine that kind of thing being possible by making the program pretend to do so by putting each sequence of notes in separate channels internal to the code, but display it as if its really capable of doing overlay.
