Redirect category ID

Last week I was able to assign the Target URL using a CATEGORY ID. I know because I had set a redirect using a category ID successfully. Pretty sure that upgrading to the current version 3 borked this functionality.

I have “Auto-generate URL” set as “$dec$” (no quotes) but it now only recognizes post/page IDs. The READ ME doc seems to support the current limitation: “Additionally, if the target URL is a number without any slashes then Redirection will treat it as a post ID and redirect to the full URL for that post.”

Can you please release a patch that restores the category ID functionality? Or give me an idea how to hook the redirection_url_target action? Thanks!!

@johngodley: Post category slug changes aren't added as redirects, there is currently no option in Redirects plugin for watching changes in posts.

slug changes tracking option is not available, are we planning this to be added ?
