Unfortunately I am not currently in a position to contribute to this project myself.

Just remembered the [PSC #102 summary](https://www.nntp.perl.org/group/perl.perl5.porters/2023/03/msg266118.html), according to which this should have been documented as a known bug. But I’m afraid we all kind of forgot about that. 😑
